Who we are
The app "What does she want?" is run by NURUK LABS INC., 1212-220B Ira Needles Blvd, Kitchener, Ontario N2N 0C6, Canada. Questions about your data: hello@getherdat.com.
The short version
- Your swipes reach your partner only while sharing is on.
- Brands never get your name or your individual swipes.
- Sponsored picks based on your swipes, and anonymous trends, stay off unless you turn them on.
- You can change your choices or delete your data at any time in Settings.
What we collect
- Your swipes: what you want, pass on or mark as a Must-Have.
- Hints you send, like I WANT IT NOW or "I don't want anything".
- Who you are linked with as your partner.
- Your privacy choices, and when you made them.
- Whether you passed the age check. We don't keep your birthday.
- Dates you add for reminders (birthdays, anniversary): month and day only.
- Your approximate location, only if you turn on "Places near me".
- Which gifts your partner marked as gotten, so nothing is bought twice.
- Basic technical data needed to run the app, such as device type and app version.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your deck and send your hints to your partner.
- Places near you: if you turn this on, we use your approximate area to show restaurants and delivery near you.
- Shopping links: "Get it" buttons are affiliate links. The store tells us a sale happened so we earn a commission; it doesn't tell us who bought it.
- Sponsored picks: brands pay to add products to the deck, and these are always labeled "Sponsored". We only use your swipes to choose them if you turn on "Personalized sponsored picks".
- Anonymous trends: if you turn this on, your swipes are counted in totals we share with brands, such as "8,000 people want this candle". These totals never include your name or your individual swipes.
- To keep the app safe and working, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
Your partner
Your partner sees your hints only while you are linked and sharing is on. You can pause sharing or unlink at any time. After unlinking, your partner can no longer see your hints.
Who else receives data
- Service providers that host and run the app for us, under contracts that protect your data.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Legal bases (EU and UK)
- Running the service you asked for: your deck, your hints and partner sharing.
- Your consent: personalized sponsored picks and anonymous trends. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the app secure and fixing problems.
Your rights
You can access, correct, get a copy of or delete your data, withdraw your consent, and object to how we use it. In Settings you can change your choices and delete your data. For anything else, email hello@getherdat.com.
California residents can also ask what we collect, ask us to delete it, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal data, without being treated differently for doing so.
If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while you use the app and delete it within 30 days after you delete your data or your account.
Age limit
The app is only for people 18 and over. We block anyone younger, and if we learn that someone under 18 has used the app, we delete their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll ask you to review and accept it again in the app.
